Water Smart Gardening Website Promotional Suggestions

  1. Have the button icon to activate the site easy to find.  If the link is hidden deep within the recesses of your city, county, or agency website people will not find it.
  2. Social Networking: Post plants and or garden images periodically to Facebook and Twitter and other social networking outlets.
  3. Place ads in newspapers and magazines.
  4. Billing Stuffers and billing messages.  Talk to everyone who has a water bill!
  5. Create a Brochure for hand out.
  6. Communicate the site at events like Earth Day or Landscape Classes you conduct.
  7. Tell Master Gardeners about the website.  Have them use it in their Help Lines and link it to their website.
  8. Newspaper Articles.  They are hungry for content.
  9. Nursery connections.   Leave literature to hand out there, have them put a link on their web site and invite them to mention it in their newsletters.   The website promotes landscape activity, good for them and good for you.
  10. Contact Trade Organizations: Get them to link to your website too.
  11. Post Cards, Press Releases.
  12. Radio:  Almost every area of the country has a radio program dedicated to either landscaping or gardening.  Get them to help you promote the site as a public service.
  13. TV spot. OK I know it would need to be late late night but Redding California did it!
  14. Outdoor Signs near bus stops, on buses, etc.
